PHILIPPIANS 2: 13
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
To Ponder:
When I was young, I really believed that God wanted me to try harder. Do better. Be more. Most of the time I felt like I just did not have stregnth to do what he was wanting me to do. In our reading for today it struck me that we don’t have to manufacture the strength or even the desire to follow God on our own. God himself is working in us, creating both the will and the ability to fulfill his good purpose.
That means when we feel weak, unmotivated, or unsure, we can still trust that God is at work within us. What if God really could use you? This verse assures us that he not only can, but he is already helping you want to and do what he calls you to.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that you are working in me even when I feel weak or unmotivated. Help me to trust that you are giving me both the desire and the strength to do what pleases you. Shape my will, strengthen my heart, and guide my steps. Let my life reflect your good purpose and your glory. Amen
