and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

TO PONDER

Do you feel expectant? Are you excited? Do you have a sense of anticipation? It can sometimes be really easy to get blinded by the everyday of this life, the never-ending to do list, climbing the ladder, achieving and kicking goals. But, it’s important for us to remember that this life is not all there is for us. Jesus has died and risen again and ascended into heaven, but that is not the end of the story. He is coming back again, to rescue us from the coming wrath. While we wait for him, we shouldn’t be idle though, we have been given a very important task, to go and make disciples and baptise them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So live a purposeful life, but with a sense of anticipation that our risen Lord will return!

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for this life you have given me. Help me to live my life according to your purpose, and help me to look forward to you coming back again, to rescue your people. Amen.
