I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

TO PONDER

Picture a dog. It has been given a toy or a bone, something that is has wanted desperately. Now, having received its prize, what does the dog do with it? It guards it, perhaps it puts it somewhere, hidden from anyone who might try and steal it. Anyone who dares to try and take the toy or bone back is sure to be growled at, at best. The bone or toy is precious to the dog, and it will do whatever it needs to do to keep it safe. If a dog goes to so much trouble for its toy or bone, how much more does the Father do to protect us? The truth is more than we will ever know or imagine. Jesus words are truth for us, our eternal life is a gift, we will never perish and God will never let anyone snatch us from His hand.

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for the price you paid for me, so I can enjoy the gift of eternal life with my heavenly Father. Make me aware in a new way how much you love me, and all that you do to protect me and keep me safe within your care. Amen.
